  • WHAT IS INKLESS SCAR LIGHTENING?
Inkless Scar Lightening is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that targets the appearance of scars to lighten and improve their texture without the use of tattoo ink or pigmentation. This technique is often used to reduce the visibility of scars, whether from surgery, trauma, acne, or other skin injuries, by stimulating the skin's natural healing process.

  • WHAT TYPES OF SCARS CAN SCAR LIGHTENING TREAT?
Here are some types of scars that can benefit from this treatment: 1. Surgical Scars C-Section Scars/Mastectomy Scars/Tummy Tuck Scars/Other Post-Surgical Scars Inkless Scar Lightening can help reduce the appearance of scars resulting from surgical procedures by softening and lightening the scar tissue, improving its texture, and blending it more naturally with the surrounding skin. 2. Acne Scars Rolling Scars/Ice Pick Scars/Boxcar Scars Acne scars, especially those that are indented or uneven, can also be treated with Inkless Scar Lightening to improve the skin’s texture and diminish the appearance of scars. 3. Trauma Scars Injury Scars/Burn Scars/Laceration Scars Scars from accidents or injuries can be lightened, and their texture can be improved with this treatment, reducing their visibility. 4. Hypertrophic Scars These are raised scars that occur due to overproduction of collagen during healing. Inkless Scar Lightening can help reduce the height and visibility of hypertrophic scars, making them flatter and less noticeable. 5. Post-Surgery Scars Facelift Scars/Liposuction Scars Scars from cosmetic surgeries such as facelifts or liposuction can be treated to reduce their prominence and improve the overall look of the skin. 6. Old Scars Even long-standing scars can benefit from this treatment. The micro-needling process stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving the skin’s overall health and reducing the appearance of older, more stubborn scars.
  • WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
    1. Consultation and Skin Assessment Personalized Consultation: The process begins with a consultation, where a trained professional assesses the type, severity, and age of the scar. They will also discuss your expectations and the best course of treatment. Skin Evaluation: The technician will examine the scar's depth, texture, and color to tailor the treatment to your specific needs. 2. Preparation Cleaning: The treatment area is thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, oils, and other impurities, ensuring a sterile environment. Numbing: Depending on the treatment and the scar's location, a topical numbing cream or gel may be applied to reduce any discomfort during the procedure. 3. Scar Lightening Treatment (Inkless or Micro-needling) Micro-needling: In most scar lightening treatments, a device with tiny needles (microneedles) is used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural collagen and elastin production, which helps in healing and lightening scars. Inkless Scar Lightening: This treatment focuses on scar tissue but does not involve the use of any pigmented ink. Instead, the technique uses specialized needles to stimulate collagen production, break down scar tissue, and lighten the skin. The process helps flatten raised scars and improve their overall texture. Exfoliation: The micro-needling also helps exfoliate the skin, sloughing off dead skin cells and allowing fresh, healthy skin to surface.
  • DOES SCAR LIGHTENING HURT?
Pain varies on the individual, the area we are treating, and other contributing factors such as menstrual cycle, sleep deprivation, stress levels, caffeine intake, etc, however most clients describe it as “not” painful at all. We will use a topical numbing cream before and/or during your treatment to minimize any discomfort. We recommend avoiding booking an appointment during your menstrual cycle as you are more sensitive to pain during that time.
  • IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME TO THIS TREATMENT?
NO! You can return to normal activities with a few restrictions that will be explained post service treatment.
  • HOW LONG DOES EACH SESSION TAKE?
A session usually takes between 1 and 2 hours. It all depends on the area being treated.
  • HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?
The number of sessions required will depend on the size and depth of the scar and the client’s expectations. Most often, it will take between one to four sessions for scars or stretch marks to achieve desired results. However, some clients are happy with their results after just one to two sessions. Collagen levels peak at about 14 days post treatment and continue for weeks following. We schedule sessions 6-12 weeks apart to ensure ample healing time for the deeper layers of the skin between treatments. Remember scars may never fully go away for some, but ISR can significantly improve them.
