WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Rescheduling or Cancelling Appointments-
All cancellations and rescheduling must be done at least 48 hours ahead of time and date scheduled. Deposits are 100% non-refundable.

Rescheduled appointments are allowed 1 transfer date (within 6 weeks) if made before 48 hours and the deposit will be applied to the appointment serviced. After 1 reschedule your deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be needed to reschedule. If cancelled under 48 hours your deposit will be forfeited and you will pay 50% of service that was scheduled with card on file.

NO Call or NO Show-
For those who do not show up to their appointment without notifying us, you will be considered a no show and automatically forfeit your deposit. In addition you will be charged the full remaining balance of the service to be performed and will have to pay in full for future appointments at time of booking.

Policies are on consent forms, website, get emailed and texted to you so there are no excuses and no exceptions.

Late Arrivals-
There is a 15 minute grace period for any appointment. If you are 16+ minutes you will be cancelled and your deposit will be forfeited and in addition a 50% service fee of scheduled service will be applied to card on file. You will need to apply a new deposit to reschedule your appointment through the booking site for future appointments.

No additional guests-
Guests and children are not permitted for safety reasons.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

During your initial consultation, your SMP artist will discuss the results you can expect and provide a clear overview of the process. They will show you examples of previous work to give you confidence in their expertise and explain how many sessions may be required for your specific case—whether it’s 2, 3, or more—to achieve your desired results.

You’ll also learn about the longevity of the treatment and whether future adjustments, such as annual touch-ups, might be necessary for your maintenance. Your artist will provide detailed pre- and post-session care instructions, outlining what to do before each session, what to expect during the healing process, and how to care for your scalp afterward.

As part of the process, you will complete a consent form and medical history questionnaire to ensure there are no contraindications preventing you from moving forward. Additionally, you’ll be asked to sign a separate consent form regarding the use of photos or videos for marketing and social media purposes. While participation is optional, it is always appreciated.

Finally, the artist will provide an estimated cost for the procedure, tailored to your specific needs and goals. This estimate may be provided in person or through a virtual consultation using photographs you submit

HOW LONG DOES EACH SESSION TAKE?

Did you know the average human scalp contains approximately 100,000 hair follicles, with about 700–1,000 per square inch? Recreating the appearance of natural hair often requires at least 2–3 sessions for individuals with a completely bald head.

Here’s an overview of the Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) process:
1. Free Initial Consultation
This is your starting point, where the expectations, process, and desired results are discussed.
2. First Session
Scheduled at least 24 hours after your consultation, this session typically lasts 2.5–3 hours, depending on your specific SMP needs.
3. Second Session
Conducted at least two weeks after the first session, this appointment lasts 1.5–3 hours. During this session, the color and density are refined, and the hairline is perfected for a natural look.
4. Third Session (if needed)
If required, this session occurs at least two weeks after the second session and lasts 1.5–2 hours. It focuses on enhancing density, refining details, and addressing any touch-ups from the previous sessions.
5. Annual Touch-Ups
To maintain the results, most clients opt for touch-ups approximately 3–5 years after the initial treatment.
This structured approach ensures a realistic and seamless outcome tailored to your unique needs.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?

On an average patients receive 2-3 sessions that are spaced out 2 weeks apart after each session.
They are usually followed by annual touch ups after 4-6 years.

DOES SMP HURT?

Accepted Answer

Most clients find Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) to be tolerable. The needle only penetrates the skin at a superficial depth, meaning it doesn't go deep enough to damage hair follicles or cause bleeding. The sensation is often described as "annoyingly uncomfortable." On a pain scale of 1 to 10, most clients rate it between a 2 and 5.

After the first session, many clients feel more at ease and mentally prepared for the remaining sessions. In fact, most report feeling less discomfort during the second or third sessions. The sensitivity of the procedure can vary depending on the area being treated. The front hairline and temples are typically more sensitive than the crown. This is especially true during the first session, as these areas often require more pigment placement to achieve a precise and well-mapped hairline.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY INITIAL SESSION?

Clients are responsible to follow proper pre-care instructions which are written on each FAQ page, confirmation email and in each of the reminder emails. Clients who show up with indication of poor pre-care that can affect the results will be sent home and will FORFEIT their deposit.

1. Avoid sun exposure 1 week prior to appointment to prevent burning and peeling of the skin. 
2. Avoid alcohol and caffeine 48 hours before appointment.
3. No blood thinners: marijuana, vitamin e oil, fish oil, ibuprofen, aspirin, niacin, Aleve or Advil 48 hours before appointment. Tylenol is OK.
It is important to moisturize your scalp 2 days prior to treatment. It gives your SMP artist a better canvas to work on without any dry spots and helps with the pigment retention.
4. Any skin irritations near treatment area (appointment needs to be rescheduled).
5. It is recommended to shave or cut your hair at least 2 days before. It helps see any imperfections that need to be covered during the treatment and to blend the pigment with the hair follicles. 
6. Do NOT use a razor on your scalp.
7. Wash your hair and scalp and exfoliate any dead skin cells as well to help leave a better canvas for the technician. 
8. Do not add anything to your scalp the day of the appointment. No gel, hairspray, fibers, oils or wax products. Excess oil can prevent pigment retention.
9. No exercise for the day of appointment.
10. Stay hydrated drinking plenty of water (helps scalp absorb the pigment) and eat a balanced meal prior to appointment.​

WHEN WILL IT BE NOTICEABLE?

After completing the first session of Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), you’ll notice immediate results. During the first 24 hours, you might experience some redness or mild swelling, which typically subsides within 48–72 hours. Initially, the pigment may appear bold due to the freshly applied ink, but it will soften and settle into a more natural tone as it heals. You’ll see a noticeable improvement right away, but to the untrained eye, your treatment will appear so natural that others may simply think you look refreshed without pinpointing the change.
Some clients may request a very dark design or an overly bold hairline, which is generally not recommended. Achieving a natural and undetectable look requires balance and careful planning. SMP is a progressive process performed in layers over multiple sessions to build density gradually. This method ensures the most realistic and satisfactory results.

HOW MUCH DOES SMP COST?

At Inked Aesthetica, pricing is determined by the extent of hair loss and the time required to complete the procedure, which can only be assessed on a case-by-case basis. We use the same formula for each case but it will vary per person. On average, costs range from $2,000 to $4,500.

Question 13

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE CASH IN HAND? DO I HAVE OPTIONS?

We offer in-house payment plans, you are allowed to split your total treatment cost into the number of sessions we recommend for your treatment. If you have a total treatment $3500 and we recommend 3 sessions. Each session would be $1000 because the down payment would be $500 but it would go towards your total procedure cost.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

We ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 2 days before the beginning of your appointment or you may be charged a cancellation fee.

Cancellation Policy: 
* Consultations are free, however if I can not get in touch with you for a virtual consult or you do not show up to the physical location you will be charged $75 fee as a no-show for tattoo appointments.  
* Cancellations made after 48 hours before the appointment will forfeit their deposit and be charged 50% of their service fee.

* Rescheduling Policy:     
* To reschedule a tattoo appointment, a new $100 deposit will be needed for all tattoo services ($25 deposit for airbrush spray tanning) but will be applied towards your scheduled service. 
 * If you cancel the rescheduled appointment under 48 hours of the date and time you forfeit the $100 deposit ($25 deposit for airbrush spray tanning).
*Rescheduling a tattoo appointment before the 48 hours your deposit will be transfered to the new date but must be scheduled within the next 30 days.

* Second-Time Offense:  * To reschedule after the second late cancellation, you must pay 50% of the tattoo service treatment as a deposit or the 100% payment for airbrush spray tan.
* Multiple Late Cancellation Consequences: After a third late cancellation or no-show, the studio reserves the right to terminate the client relationship.

No-Show Policy:  A "no-show" occurs when a client misses an appointment without prior notice.    
* Clients who no-show will be charged 100% of their service. They will be charged the full scheduled service fee and will have to pay in full for future appointments at the time of booking.

* Policy Enforcement:    
* Fees for late cancellations or no-shows will be automatically charged to the client's account or card on file. Policies are on consent forms, website, and confirmation emails and texts that are sent to you prior to your appointments, so there are no excuses and no exceptions. If we do not receive a confirmation prior to your appointment your appointment will be cancelled. You will need to reschedule a new appointment and place a new deposit.
